One week away from a government shutdown

The US Congress is now one week away from causing another federal government shutdown. Congress has one week left to pass a federal funding bill before the deadline of 12:01 AM EST on October 1.

What exactly happens when there is a government shutdown? Here is a list.

- Preschool and readiness centers could possibly close, which would make the younger generation lack even more intelligence than necessary.

- Inspections of drinking water facilities would come to a halt. I hope that you have a water filter.

- Loans to farmers would be delayed. That would not be a good thing to do since we are now in the midst of harvest time.

The shutdown could possibly happen due to members of the Republican Party in the US House of Representatives blocking a new budget bill from being passed. Politicians are now beginning to say the quiet part out loud about the GOP.

Rep. Lawler (R-NY) called his colleagues a "clown show."

US Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) stated that government shutdowns in the past has been "a loser for Republicans politically." He must have seen the Ghost of Christmas Future the last time he froze because he said a true statement.

Rep. Byron Donalds (R-FL) has broken away from the Freedom Caucus on this position and is now supporting the bill that would avert a government shutdown in seven days. In Washington, D.C., "the buck stops here." The bucks are broken down there as well.

Hopefully, a resolution occurs within seven days because the citizens of America do not need to live through another government shutdown right now.
