Decatur Foundry Recruiting on 9/21

The Decatur Foundry is holding an in-person recruiting event on Thursday, September 21st from 10 AM to 12 PM CST at the Decatur Worknet Center. This job fair will give skilled workers the opportunity to make some nice coin before Christmas. The Decatur Worknet Center is located at 757 W. Pershing Road (Illinois Route 48).

The Decatur Foundry now has full-time openings and seasonal openings for all three shifts. Here is a look at all of the open positions.

- Melt Technician

- Molding Technician

- Grinder

- Metallurgical Engineer

- Industrial Technician

2023 Field of 68 Tip-Off schedule from 11/30 to 12/2

The inaugural Field of 68 Tip-Off will take place at the Eleanor R. Baldwin Arena from Thursday, November 30th to Saturday, December 2nd. Migrants have their first taste of the freezing cold in Chicago

Some of the migrants in Chicago that arrived from Central America, South America, and Mexico are feeling the deep freeze tonight with temperatures in the teens right now. They are sleeping outside tonight because an empty lot at 38th and California was supposed to have been ready before winter arrived. However, the gravel just arrived on the site last week in order to build a temporary shelter center for the migrants.
