The Illinois Department of Corrections (IDOC) will be holding a job fair and a screening on Thursday, September 21st from 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM at the Marion National Guard Armory. The Marion National Guard Armory is located at 11427 Minuteman Road, a couple of blocks north of Illinois Route 13.

Before you go to the testing, you will need to call Central Screening at (217) 785-9221 because they will tell you what documents that you will need to bring on Thursday.

Besides bringing the documents, the only qualification that you will need in order to apply for a corrections officer position is that you obtained a high school diploma or a GED.

Even if you do not live in the Marion area, then you can still apply with the IDOC at the Marion National Guard Armory. On the application, you will be asked to put down your top two preferred locations within the state of Illinois.

As you can see from above, the screening and the testing will take all day long. You will be have to take written tests, and you will have to take physical tests.

The starting pay for a corrections officer at this screening is $52,512 a year. You will now have a chance to put a grand into your hand per week. Get your wind sprints in now before the screening on Thursday.
