Charting Your Future youth workshop on 9/18

The Illinois Department of Employment Security (IDES) office in Harvey will be holding a Charting Your Future Youth Workshop on Monday, September 18th from 1 PM to 2:30 PM CST. This workshop will be open to young men and young women between the ages of 18 and 24. The IDES office in Harvey is located at 16845 Halsted Street (Illinois Route 1).

This workshop will show the youth what type of job opportunities are available for them. There are many job openings and apprenticeships available through the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA). The Illinois Department of Employment Security is partnering with Employment & Employer Services to give attendees the resources that they need in order to secure a high-paying job in the future.

2023 Field of 68 Tip-Off schedule from 11/30 to 12/2

The inaugural Field of 68 Tip-Off will take place at the Eleanor R. Baldwin Arena from Thursday, November 30th to Saturday, December 2nd. Migrants have their first taste of the freezing cold in Chicago

Some of the migrants in Chicago that arrived from Central America, South America, and Mexico are feeling the deep freeze tonight with temperatures in the teens right now. They are sleeping outside tonight because an empty lot at 38th and California was supposed to have been ready before winter arrived. However, the gravel just arrived on the site last week in order to build a temporary shelter center for the migrants.
