The Taste of Iceland Chicago will take place throughout the Windy City from Thursday, September 7th to Saturday, September 9th. This cultural festival will give you a glimpse of how people live on one of the coolest islands in the world.

The fest kicks off on Thursday at 12 PM CST with a book signing by Eliza Reid at After-Words Bookstore on 23 East Illinois Street. Reid is the First Lady of Iceland, and she will be signing her internationally acclaimed book titled 'Secrets of the Sprakkar.' Sprakkar in the Icelandic language means "extraordinary women."

On all three days of the Taste of Iceland Chicago, the Bistronomic will be serving up an Icelandic menu from 5 PM to 8:15 PM. The food is a four-course menu that will be listed for $85: smoked arctic char, Icelandic cod, Icelandic lamb, and Icelandic skyr for desert. Bistronomic is located at 840 N. Wabash Avenue.

Closing out the festivities on Thursday will be the Icelandic Airwaves Off-Venue concert at Martyrs', which is located at 3855 N. Lincoln Avenue.

On Friday at 5 PM, there will be a free Icelandic Cocktail Class with Reyka Vodka at The Exchange located at 224 S. Michigan Avenue. Learn how to get saucy like the Icelanders with Reyka Vodka's mixologist Jeff Naples.

Then, head over to the Logan Theatre at 2646 N. Milwaukee Avenue for the screening of Beautiful Beings at 7 PM. This movie has been submitted to the Academy Awards for Best International Feature Film. After the movie, there will be a Q&A session with director Gudmundur Arnar.

Saturday's festivities will kick off with the Elemental Sound Bath with Breakfast Bar at Yogaview (2211 N. Elston Avenue) at 1 PM. The hour of meditation will be led by Icelandic energy healer Josa Goodlife. Hopefully, she will meditate on less people being shot throughout the city for the rest of the year.

For the last event, 66-degree North will be sponsoring a climbing event at Brooklyn Boulders (100 S. Morgan Street) at 3 PM.

At a few of these events, the Icelandair wheel of prizes will make an appearance. Lucky attendees will be given a chance to spin the wheel and win a trip for two to Iceland.
