The first-ever Regiment Gaming Tournament that will be hosted by the American Legion will take place on Saturday, June 10th from 10 AM to 8 PM CST at the Osseo-Maple Grove American Legion Post 172. The Osseo-Maple Grove American Legion Post 172 is located at 260 4th Avenue SE in Osseo.
The Regiment Gaming Tournament is free to enter. However, you must be an active military member, a military veteran, or a dependent of a military member or veteran.
The game that will be played throughout the day will be Call of Duty (COD). Also, you will need to find a buddy to play with in the tournament because the games will be two versus two (2v2) on site at American Legion Post 172. Bring all of your accuracy and bring all of your skill because there will be a prize pool of five thousand dollars.
Regiment Gaming is a gaming community that was started in 2020. The goal is to provide gamers that are active military on duty and military veterans a sense of belonging so that they do not feel alone. Loneliness can creep in from time to time because people that are serving in the military or that have served in the military go through things in training and in battle that only they have experienced. Also, gaming has been shown to help reduce the symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and depression.
If you want to enter the event, then all that you need to do is fill out this entry form. All that you need to provide is your name, your email address, your teammate's name, the name of your team, and your twitter handles. If you are not able to find a teammate, then you are still able to enter the tournament as a solo player. The Regiment Gaming Tournament will find a teammate for you that will be on site on Saturday. Please make sure that you arrive before 10:45 AM or you will be disqualified.
