On Tuesday, US Representative Tim Burchett (R-TN) claims that there is no solution to school shootings on Capitol Hill.
"If you think Washington is going to fix this problem, you're wrong. They're not going to fix this problem. They are the problem. We're not going to fix it."
People that are elected into US Congress are not the problem. The actual problem is school shootings. American citizens vote Congressmen into office for the purpose of finding solutions to problems throughout the country. Apparently, Rep. Burchett does not want to fix any problems while in Congress, so the people of Tennessee need to remember this quote when they go to the ballot box in 2024.
If you thought that take was horrific, then this next quote will send you into the shadow realm. He was then asked by a reporter, "What else should be done to protect people like your little girl from being safe in school?" One would think that he would show some sort of empathy when answering the question, but here is his response.
His replay to the question was quickly answered with this statement, "Well, we homeschool her." His response lets you know that he does not care if your child is involved in a school shooting because his child will never be in one. This callousness displays the type of attitude that he operates with on a daily basis. As long as anything does not happen to him, then he does not care if anything happens to you. He does not have sense enough to see what other people are going through in order to find a solution to the problem of school shootings in America.
