Many people are facing a food dilemma this week because they spent their money that they had budgeted for groceries this week on corned beef and green beer over St. Patrick's Day weekend. Fortunately, nobody has to go hungry in the area this week.
The Northern Illinois Food Bank and the Catholic Charities Diocese of Joliet Mobile Food Pantry will be holding a mobile food pantry at St. Mary Immaculate Parish from 4:30 PM CST to 6 PM on Wednesday, March 22nd. The food will be given out utilizing a drive-thru method in the parking lot of St. Mary Immaculate Parish.
The food will be given out on a first-come, first-serve basis. You do not have to register on a list in order to receive food at this mobile food pantry, which means that you do not have to worry about somebody else snooping into your business because you need some food this week. We all need to eat.
St. Mary Immaculate Parish is located at 15629 South Route 59 in Plainfield.
Although the time this food pantry begins is at 4:30 PM, you will really need to arrive at 4 PM. The right-hand lane going northbound on Route 59 will be blocked off by traffic cones. If you are not there early, then you might not receive a box filled with good food to eat. Do not come back to this post and leave a comment if you are late because nobody else should be blamed for your lack of time management.
If you are not able to make this mobile food pantry, then here is a look at some other times this week where you can secure some food for this week.
