Come celebrate St. Patrick's Day weekend in McHenry County with this year's McHenry ShamROCKS The Fox event from Friday, March 17th until Sunday, March 19th. The party will take place all three days in downtown McHenry at Miller Point Park. Green beer will be waiting for you all three days.
Plenty of activities will be happening during this weekend. Here is a list of few of things that will be going on in McHenry.
Friday, March 17th - St. Paddy's Day
The event kicks off from 5 PM CST until 11 PM with three musical acts. The Feelgood Leprechauns will perform from 5 PM until 6:15 PM. Do not allow this Chicago-area tribute band to steal all of your gold, me laddies! The next band that will perform from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM is Vinyl Goldmine. They are also a tribute band from the Chicago-area that is guaranteed to rock the house. The main event for the evening will be 7th Heaven from 9 PM to 11 PM. They are one of the best cover bands in the Midwest.
Saturday, March 18th
After you are hung over from St. Patrick's Day, then you will be able to run off some of the pounds you gained from eating all of the corned beef at the 2023 Kiwanis Shamrock Shuffle 5K at 8 AM. You will need to register at this link. The cost to participate in the 5K run is $40.
After the run, the town will dye the Fox River green at 10 AM. You will be able to see the festivities from the Pearl Street bridge. Next, the McHenry ShamROCKS The Fox parade begins at 12 PM.
The live music will begin with the Dundee Scottish Band and the Messengers Tribute to the Irish from 12:45 PM to 2:45 PM. Bagpipes will be played for the first two hours. Then, bagpipes will be played for the next two hours from 3:15 PM to 5:15 PM by Classical Blast in Kilts.
Then, the Semple Band will perform from 6 PM to 8 PM. They are a pop/rock cover band from the Chicago area. To close out the night will be Fast Times from 8:45 PM to 11 PM. They are one of the best '80's cover bands in the USA.
