2023 College Basketball Invitational schedule

The 2023 Discount Tire College Basketball Invitational (CBI) will take place from Saturday, March 18th to Wednesday, March 22nd at the Ocean Center in Daytona Beach.

Here is a look at the tournament schedule. The first round games and the quarterfinal games will be televised on FloHoops. The semifinal games and the CBI Championship Game will be televised on ESPN2. All times listed are Eastern Standard Time (EST).

First Round - Saturday, March 18

Game 1: #1 Indiana State (22-12) vs #16 USC Upstate (16-15) - 11 AM.

Game 2: #4 Southern Utah (22-12) vs #13 North Alabama (18-14) - 1 PM.

Game 3: #2 San Jose State (22-11) vs #15 Southern Indiana (16-16) - 3:30 PM.

Game 4: #3 Charlotte (18-14) vs #14 Western Carolina (18-15) - 5:30 PM.

Sunday, March 19

Game 5: #8 Eastern Kentucky (20-13) vs #9 Cleveland State (21-13) - 11 AM.

Game 6: #5 Duquesne (20-12) vs #12 Rice (18-15) - 1 PM.

Game 7: #7 Tartleton (17-16) vs #10 Radford (19-14) - 3:30 PM.

Game 8: #6 Stetson (17-13) vs #11 Milwaukee (21-11) - 5:30 PM.

Quarterfinals - Monday, March 20

Game 9: Winner of Game 1 vs Winner of Game 5 - 12 PM.

Game 10: Winner of Game 2 vs Winner of Game 6 - 2 PM.

Game 11: Winner of Game 3 vs Winner of Game 7 - 4:30 PM.

Game 12: Winner of Game 4 vs Winner of Game 8 - 6:30 PM.

Semifinals - Tuesday, March 21

Game 13: Winner of Game 9 vs Winner of Game 10 - 7 PM.

Game 14: Winner of Game 11 vs Winner of Game 12 - 9 PM.

Final - Wednesday, March 22

Game 15: Winner of Game 13 vs Winner of Game 14 - 5 PM.

Tickets are still available for this year's CBI. Tickets are $8 per day. You can go on Spring Break this weekend at Daytona Beach and be able to watch 15 games for $32.

Debt ceiling deal is almost complete

One week away from debt ceiling deadline

Earlier this week, US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen warned the US Congress in a letter that debt ceiling negotiations needs to end in a deal before Thursday, June 1st. "With an additional week of information now available, I am writing to note that we estimate that it is highly likely that Treasury will no longer be able to satisfy all of the government's obligations if Congress has not acted to raise or suspend the debt limit by early June, and potentially as early as June 1."

This past Saturday was Armed Forces Day. Armed Forces Day is a day in which we celebrate everyone that is currently serving in the US military. The city of Tinley Park scheduled to have an Armed Forces Weekend Carnival near the train station at 80th Avenue this past Saturday and Sunday. However, the carnival was cancelled for the entire weekend after a flash mob of hundreds of teenagers set off a rampage in the parking lot.
