The 2023 Plainfield Hometown Irish Parade will begin at 1 PM CST in downtown Plainfield. Make sure that you get there early because the streets will be packed with hundreds of people and a few of the intersections will be blocked off.
The parade will begin at the intersection of James Street and Commercial Street. The parade route will go east on Commercial Street towards Illinois Street. The route will then go north on Illinois Street to Lockport Street. Then, the route will go west on Lockport Street to James Street. Finally, the parade route will end where it began at James Street and Commercial Street.
Staging for the parade will begin at 10 AM at Plainfield Central High School. If you are participating in the parade, then you will have to be at the high school by 12:15 PM or you will lose your spot in the parade. Also, you must enter the high school from Fort Beggs Road because all of the other ways to get to the school will be blocked off in order to ensure safety for everyone that is involved in this parade.
As of this writing, there will be 73 different entries in the parade. Having so many different people and organizations in the parade will allow for everyone to see how creative their floats and their routines will be on Sunday.
The Grand Marshal for the Plainfield Hometown Irish Parade will be former Plainfield Mayor Mike Collins. The 2023 Parade Princess is Ruby Tennis.
