The Workforce Center of Will County will be holding a State of Illinois Workshop on Tuesday, February 7th from 1 PM to 2:30 PM CST. All of the seats are taken in person, but you will be able to access this workshop from home via Zoom.

All that you need to do is register for the workshop online at this link. The form asks for your name, your phone number, your email address, and your zip code.

The purpose of this workshop is to show you how you can put yourself in position in order to be able to work for the State of Illinois. The workshop will give you information on what type of agencies are within the State of Illinois along with how you will be able to apply for these openings.

Applying to work for the State of Illinois requires a lot of patience because of nepotism. You will have to wait for positions to open up that were filled by the relatives or the friends of a worker who recommended them for a job to get fired.

However, there is hope of skirting around the nepotism. Illinois was second in the USA with 37,000 new job openings within state offices in November of 2022. Also, 135,000 people that were working for the State of Illinois quit in November of 2022. Therefore, there are plenty of openings.

In November of 2022, the State of Illinois hired 251,000 people. Due to so many people being hired and looking to be hired, this workshop will give you tips on how to make your online application stand out like a needle in a haystack. If you are not hired immediately, then do not give up because the State of Illinois is legally required to keep your application on file for at least one year.
