State Farm Champions Classic on 11/15

Adrian Holman

The 11th Annual State Farm Champions Classic will be played on Tuesday, November 15th at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis. The Champions Classic involves these four college basketball powerhouses: Duke, Michigan State, Kentucky, and Kansas, last season's NCAA Men's Basketball champions.

The Champions Classic works on a rotational schedule so that each team plays the other team once every three years. Whoever wins big in one of these games becomes one of the early favorites to win in March. Last season, Kansas whooped Michigan State 87-74. That win gave the Jayhawks the momentum that carried them through the entire season to an NCAA title. Here is a look at the schedule for this year's Champions Classic.

Tuesday, November 15th

7 PM EST: #4 Kentucky vs Michigan State.

9:30 PM EST: #7 Duke vs #5 Kansas.

Although Michigan State is unranked at the moment, the Spartans almost defeated Gonzaga at the Peraton Armed Forces Classic on Veterans Day on a warship. The Spartans were up double-digits in the second half, but lost 64-63 at the end. Kentucky looked strong in their two tune-up games last week, but this game will be an accurate gauge of how good the Wildcats can really be this season.

The best game will definitely be between Duke and Kansas. Both teams brought in multiple recruits that dominated at the high school level.

The first game between Kentucky and Michigan State is virtually sold out because both fan bases travel very well. At the time of this writing, there were only about seven seats available for sale. However, you can still secure a seat for the Duke/Kansas game for less than $50.
