People with disabilities want to work, but are not given as many opportunities to earn a living wage because many employers choose not to make the accommodations necessary for a person with a disability to thrive in their working environment. These acts of cruelty continue to happen in the workforce even though companies decide to not comply with the American with Disabilities Act of 1990.

To make matters even worse, politicians are seeking to privatize Social Security, which means that people with disabilities would not be able to receive any benefits in the future. As a result, people with disabilities will need more employment opportunities before the privatization happens.

Fortunately, several corporations have stepped up to be involved in the Individuals with Disabilities Career Fair on Tuesday. Here is a list of a few of the participating companies.

- Compudopt

- FedEx Ground

- Michael's

- McDonald's

- National Tube Supply

- Pace Suburban Bus

- Silver Cross Hospital

- Will County Health Department

Registration for the Individuals with Disabilities Career Fair is absolutely free. However, you do need to register for the job fair at the link provided by the Workforce Center of Will County. The form needs to be filled out so that they will know how to accommodate you.
