The DuPage Event Center & Fairgrounds will be holding the annual DuPage County Fair from Friday, July 29th to Sunday, July 31st. The fair has not been held over the past couple of years, but it will be back for 2022 in Wheaton. The DuPage County Fair is one of the oldest fairs in US history with the first fair being in 1842.

The fair will be open on Friday from 10 AM CST to 11 PM, on Saturday from noon until 11 PM, and on Sunday from noon until 10 PM. Admission tickets at the gate will be $10 for adults, $5 for children between 3 and 12, and $5 for senior citizens 62 years and older. Children 2 and under and active military personnel with ID will be granted free admission.

The DuPage County Fair will have a carnival running all three days. You can pay for admission along with unlimited carnival rides for one day for the price of $35.

The main reason to go to a county fair is to see the animals and the agriculture. Each day of the fair at 1 PM and at 2 PM will be a 30-minute Monarch Watch Tour at the Butterfly Garden. You will be able to see different types of monarch butterflies. Butterflies are essential to a farmer because they help to pollinate plants in a garden. At 2 PM, there will also be a sheep herding demonstration at the Buttefly Garden. Sheep herding can be very difficult because sheep have no depth perception.

On the premises will also be a community garden that will show off different plants, flowers, and vegetables. Garden tours will be conducted every day of the fair at 12 PM, at 1:30 PM, and at 4 PM.

However, the most important garden will be the beer garden. The beer garden will open up at 6 PM on Friday and at 2 PM on Saturday and Sunday. Local bands will be entertaining the crowd from the beer garden stage all three days.

The DuPage Events Center is located at 2015 Manchester Road in Wheaton.
