Bolingbrook's Annual 4th of July Celebration

Adrian Holman

The Village of Bolingbrook will be holding their annual 4th of July Celebration on Monday from 3 PM until 9 PM CST. The Independence Day event will be held at the Bolingbrook Golf Club located at 2001 Rodeo Drive.

Parking will be at a premium because the Bolingbrook Golf Club does not have an abundance of parking spots. However, there will be a shuttle bus running back and forth from the Bolingbrook Golf Club to Plainfield East High School at 12001 Naperville Road. You will be able to either park at Plainfield East to take the shuttle or Uber or Lyft to Plainfield East to take the shuttle because roads in the area will be blocked off for the extravaganza. However, the shuttle starts at 6 PM.

If those parking spots are filled at Plainfield East, then you will be able to park at Eichelberger Elementary School or at John F. Kennedy Middle School on Essington Road. Both schools are blocks away from Bolingbrook Golf Club. However, there will be no shuttle from these two schools to Bolingbrook Golf Club.

After getting all of that walking in, you will be able to partake in the various food trucks and food vendors on the premises. You will not be allowed to bring your own grill, so make sure that you bring money to buy some food at the 4th of July Celebration.

To keep you entertained, there will be music all throughout the event. DJ Tim will be spinning tunes from 3 PM to 5 PM. From 5:30 PM to 7 PM, the local band Junkyard Groove from Chicago will perform. They cover country, soul, folk, and rock music. Plus, they also do original music. Their new video just released back in March. If you like listening to acoustic guitar, then this band is for you.

Semple Band will then perform from 7:30 PM until 9 PM. They also are a band from Chicago that covers rock hits from the '70's, '80's, and the '90's.

Stay around for the fireworks show that will be displayed after 9 PM. The fireworks are worth waiting around for in the evening. Here is a video highlight from a previous fireworks show in Bolingbrook.
