Slammers Fireworks Fest 2022 this weekend

Adrian Holman

The Joliet Slammers (21-21) will be at home this weekend at Duly Health and Care Field against the Windy City Thunderbolts (18-21) in a Frontier League Western Division Series. This series is critical for both teams since the Slammers are 1/2 a game out of third place while the Thunderbolts are 1 1/2 games out of fourth place in the Western Division. The top three teams in each division qualify for the Frontier League playoffs in September. Staying close to third place is on the minds of both teams this weekend.

During the season, the Joliet Slammers normally have fireworks on Friday. However, this weekend is before the Fourth of July. That means that fireworks will be going off after each game on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. This weekend's promo is being called Slammers Fireworks Fest 2022. Seeing the fireworks this weekend will save you from all of the hassle and the traffic that you will have to deal with by checking out a fireworks display on Independence Day.

Friday's game will begin at 6:35 PM CST and the games on Saturday and on Sunday will start at 6:05 PM. Tickets are still available for all three games. The cost for seats are $14 for all three nights.

Saturday's game is also Military Appreciation Night presented by Duly Health and Care. Any member of the military that shows their military ID at the Slammers box office will receive a free ticket to the game. Food and drink promos included on Saturday night will be $2 tacos, $3 mystery beer, and $4 margaritas.

After the fireworks on Sunday evening's game, the Joliet Slammers players will stay for a full-team autograph session. Here is a video of the fireworks presentation from Opening Night.
