Vitalant Blood Drive at Wintrust Arena on 5/31

Adrian Holman

Vitalant will be holding a blood drive in the Champions Lounge at the Wintrust Arena on Tuesday, May 31st from 2 PM until 8 PM CST. Vitalant is now taking appointments at this portal link. Appointments are given in 15-minute increments with the donation taking between fifteen and thirty minutes.

The donations that they are looking for at this time are whole blood donations and power red donations. The power red donations are a double donation that is done within the same period of time as a regular whole blood donation. However, there are certain requirements that may disqualify you from giving a donation at this time. Please make sure that you are medically cleared to give blood.

You may think that giving a pint of blood is insignificant, but donating a pint of blood can be used to save three lives. Good deeds always yield great results. Sowing and reaping remains undefeated.

Plan your appointment accordingly because you will then be able to catch the WNBA game at 6 PM between the Chicago Sky and the Phoenix Mercury. This game will be the first time the Sky and the Mercury have played against each other since last season's Championship Series, which the Sky won. We will then be able to find out whether or not Mercury guard Diana Taurasi will punch another door at the venue.

In conjunction with the Phoenix Mercury, the Chicago Sky will be collecting donated shoes at the Wintrust Arena. The shoes will be donated to BG's Heart and Sole Shoe Drive conducted by the Phoenix Rescue Mission. The shoe drive was started five years ago by Mercury center Brittney Griner.
