2022 Men's NIT Final Four schedule

Adrian Holman

The 2022 men's basketball National Invitational Tournament (NIT) semifinals will be played tonight at Madison Square Garden. This NIT Final Four is bittersweet because these semifinals could possibly be the last one played at Madison Square Garden.

Every NIT semifinal game and every NIT Championship game has been played at Madison Square Garden since 1938. The NCAA will have various cities throughout the US bid on hosting the NIT Final Four and the NIT Championship Game for the next two years.

Tickets are still available for the NIT Final Four tonight with tickets as low as $31. If you are in the area of New York City and have nothing to do tonight, then you can swing over to Madison Square Garden for two exciting games and experience history.

Here is the schedule for tonight's NIT Final Four. All times are Eastern Standard Time (EST).

Game 1: St. Bonaventure (23-9) vs Xavier (21-13) - 7 PM.

St. Bonaventure had the hardest path to the NIT semifinals with wins at Colorado, at Oklahoma, and at Virginia. The school located in upstate New York should experience home-court advantage with the game being in New York City. Xavier guard Paul Scruggs was injured in their second round win against Florida, but the Musketeers carried on without their best player and won their third round game against Vanderbilt to advance to this game. "All for one and one for all."

Game 2: Washington State (22-14) vs Texas A&M (26-12) - 9:30 PM.

Before this tournament, the last time Washington State men's basketball team was in a postseason tournament was in 2012. Nevertheless, Washington State were able to pull off back-to-back upsets against SMU and BYU. Although Texas A&M was snubbed by the NCAA Tournament, the team used that disappointment as fuel for this tournament. Texas A&M have won all three of their NIT games by double-digits.
