2022 Summit League Men's Basketball Tournament schedule

Adrian Holman

The 40th edition of the Summit League Men's Basketball Tournament begins tonight at the Denny Sanford PREMIER Center in Sioux Falls, SD. I have never heard of Denny Sanford, so I did a Google search. Now, I wish that I have not done that Google search.

If you have read my previous articles about other conference championships, then I usually encourage readers to check out a few games at a reasonable rate. If you do not want to attend these games because the arena is named after that guy, then I understand.

For these games, you can watch them at home or at the bar because this tournament always brings the excitement. Here is a look at the tournament schedule. All times are Central Standard Time (CST). Only the top eight teams in the Summit League qualified for this tournament. That means that St. Thomas-Minnesota and North Dakota will have to be better next season.

Quarterfinals: Saturday, March 5th and Sunday, March 6th (ESPN+)

Game 1: #1 South Dakota State vs #8 Omaha - 6 PM (3/5)

Game 2: #2 North Dakota State vs #7 Denver - 8:30 PM (3/5)

Game 3: #4 Kansas City vs #5 South Dakota - 6 PM (3/6)

Game 4: #3 Oral Roberts vs #6 Western Illinois - 8:30 PM (3/6)

Semifinals: Monday, March 7th (ESPN+)

Game 5: Winner of Game 1 vs Winner of Game 3 - 6 PM

Game 6: Winner of Game 2 vs Winner of Game 4 - 8:30 PM

Championship: Tuesday, March 8th (ESPN2)

Game 7: Winner of Game 5 vs Winner of Game 6 - 8 PM

Favorite: The South Dakota State Jackrabbits outpaced the rest of their competition by going 18-0 in conference play. The way that South Dakota State wins is with a high-scoring offense of 87.2 points per game.

The match-up that I really want is a possible semifinal game between Oral Roberts and North Dakota State if both teams win their quarterfinal games. They played against each other two weeks ago with a fight after the game.
