My 2021-22 NFL Regular Season Week 17 picks

Adrian Holman

Congratulations to making it to 2022! Happy New Year! We are now in the thick of the National Football League (NFL) playoff race with two games to go in the regular season.

Last week, I went 10-6 to push my overall record to 146-92-1 for the season. Also from last week, commenter Albie Curry was totally wrong with his comment. I do pick underdogs every week. Mr. Curry's New Year's Resolution for 2022 is to stop making comments filled with misinformation and alternative facts. Now, here is a look at the Week 17 picks.

Sunday, January 2nd

Philadelphia Eagles (8-7) at Washington Football Team (6-9). Two weeks ago, the Eagles defeated WFT 27-17. Expect more of the same on Sunday. Pick: Eagles.

Los Angeles Rams (11-4) at Baltimore Ravens (8-7). The Ravens secondary gave up 525 yards passing last week. Now, they have to face the Rams. Pick: Rams.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers (11-4) at New York Jets (4-11). It's good that the Jets won last week because they are not winning this week. Pick: Buccaneers.

Miami Dolphins (8-7) at Tennessee Titans (10-5). The Dolphins are on a seven-game winning streak. Why pick against them now? Pick: Dolphins.

Jacksonville Jaguars (2-13) at New England Patriots (9-6). Cold weather will favor the run game for the Patriots. Pick: Patriots.

Las Vegas Raiders (8-7) at Indianapolis Colts (9-6). Even if Colts QB Carson Wentz does not play, RB Jonathan Taylor will be playing. Pick: Colts.

Kansas City Chiefs (11-4) at Cincinnati Bengals (9-6). Cincy will not be able to pass for 500 yards two weeks in a row. Pick: Chiefs.

New York Giants (4-11) at Chicago Bears (5-10). Giants starting QB Mike Glennon is returning to Chicago. Pick: Bears.

Atlanta Falcons (7-8) at Buffalo Bills (9-6). The Bills will have too much offense for the Falcons. Pick: Bills.

Houston Texans (4-11) at San Francisco 49ers (8-7). I do not think that the Texans will pull off two upsets in a row. Pick: 49ers.

Denver Broncos (7-8) at Los Angeles Chargers (8-7). I do not think that the Chargers will choke two weeks in a row. Pick: Chargers.

Carolina Panthers (5-10) at New Orleans Saints (7-8). Both teams are having offensive issues right now. Carolina has a chance to pull off the upset. Pick: Panthers.

Detroit Lions (2-12-1) at Seattle Seahawks (5-10). If Russ cannot cook against the Lions, then he should stop cooking. Pick: Seahawks.

Arizona Cardinals (10-5) at Dallas Cowboys (11-4). The Cardinals have not won a game this season when DeAndre Hopkins is not playing. Pick: Cowboys.

Minnesota Vikings (7-8) at Green Bay Packers (12-3). This pick is now an easy one due to Vikings QB Kirk Cousins being out for this game. Pick: Packers.

Monday, January 3rd

Cleveland Browns (7-8) at Pittsburgh Steelers (7-7-1). The Steelers will be missing four starters from their defense: DL Chris Wormley, NT Isaiah Buggs, ILB Joe Schobert and ILB Devin Bush. Not having two interior linemen and both inside linebackers against the rushing attack of Cleveland will not end well for the Steelers. Pick: Browns.
