My 2021 NFL Regular Season Week 8 picks

Adrian Holman

Last week was my worst week for me in regards to picking NFL regular season games. My Week 7 record was 9-4, which put my overall record for the season at 71-36. I know that I need to make up for last week, so here are the picks for Week 8. The Baltimore Ravens and the Las Vegas Raiders are on a bye, so fifteen games should fill your palate this week.

Thursday, October 27th

Green Bay Packers (6-1) at Arizona Cardinals (7-0). This game feels strange because the game of the week is usually never on a Thursday. Packers QB Aaron Rodgers will not have any wide receivers to throw the ball to due to protocols. The 1973 Dolphins will not be popping champagne this week. Pick: Cardinals.

Sunday, October 31st (Happy Halloween!)

Carolina Panthers (3-4) at Atlanta Falcons (3-3). Carolina has not won a game since RB Christian McCaffrey was injured a month ago. He is not playing. Pick: Falcons.

Miami Dolphins (1-6) at Buffalo Bills (4-2). The Dolphins are in a free fall after losing six games in a row. Pick: Bills.

San Francisco 49ers (2-4) at Chicago Bears (3-4). The Niners defensive line should dominate this game. Did you know that the Bears have not thrown for more than 200 yards in a game this season? Pick: 49ers.

Pittsburgh Steelers (3-3) at Cleveland Browns (4-3). The Steelers will be looking to avenge their playoff loss to the Browns last season. Pick: Steelers.

Philadelphia Eagles (2-5) at Detroit Lions (0-7). For Detroit, this game hurts. Pick: Eagles.

Tennessee Titans (5-2) at Indianapolis Colts (3-4). The Titans defeated the Colts earlier this season when Tennessee was not playing as good as they are now. Pick: Titans.

Cincinnati Bengals (5-2) at New York Jets (1-5). Did you know that the Bengals are currently in first place in the AFC North Division for the first time since 2015? The Jets are in a tough spot with Mike White starting at QB this week. Pick: Bengals.

Los Angeles Rams (6-1) at Houston Texans (1-6). Who set up the Texans schedule? After playing Arizona last week, they now have to go up against the Rams. Pick: Rams.

New England Patriots (3-4) at Los Angeles Chargers (4-2). Last season, the Patriots defeated the Chargers 45-0. The Chargers will not be making up 45 points that quickly. Pick: Patriots.

Jacksonville Jaguars (1-5) at Seattle Seahawks (2-5). The last time Seahawks QB Geno Smith started and won an NFL game was in 2016. Pick: Jaguars.

Washington Football Team (2-5) at Denver Broncos (3-4). There is no way that I am picking the Broncos again after their loss from last Thursday. Pick: Football Team from Washington.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers (6-1) at New Orleans Saints (4-2). Will Jameis gain revenge against his old club? No, he will not be eating the W. Pick: Buccaneers.

Dallas Cowboys (5-1) at Minnesota Vikings (3-3). Not having Cowboys QB Dak Prescott at 100% could be an issue for this game. Pick: Vikings.

Monday, November 1st (Happy All Saints Day!)

New York Giants (2-5) at Kansas City Chiefs (3-4). There is no way that the Chiefs is going to play like trash two games in a row. There is no way the Giants is going to play well two weeks in a row. Pick: Chiefs.

Please make sure that you do not eat too much candy this weekend. If you have children, then please make sure that you check the candy that they receive after trick-or-treating. Warnings have already been released by authorities about candy that could be passed out this year that are laced with high levels of marijuana.
