Last week, my picks could have been better because I ended up with a 10-6 record. Nevertheless, I will not give up because I am making more picks for this week. Here are my Week 2 NFL regular season picks.
Thursday, September 16th
New York Giants (0-1) at Washington Football Team (0-1). For the second straight week, the Giants will be going up against a formidable defense after losing to the Denver Broncos on Sunday. The Football Team starting quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick suffered a hip injury in their loss to the Los Angeles Chargers. However, QB Taylor Heinicke played well when pressed into action. Pick: WFT.
Sunday, September 19th
New England Patriots (0-1) at New York Jets (0-1). The Patriots lost to the Miami Dolphins while the Jets lost to the Carolina Panthers on Sunday. New England lost their game by only one point due to two fumbles while the Jets almost caught up in the fourth quarter. I do not see the Patriots fumbling again this Sunday. Pick: New England.
Denver Broncos (1-0) at Jacksonville Jaguars (0-1). Denver looked good in their victory over the Giants. Jacksonville did not look good in their loss to the Houston Texans. Pick: Denver.
Buffalo Bills (0-1) at Miami Dolphins (1-0). The Bills suffered a home loss to Pittsburgh, while Miami won the aforementioned game against the Patriots. I expect that the Bills will bounce back. Pick: Buffalo.
San Francisco 49ers (1-0) at Philadelphia Eagles (1-0). The Niners won against the Detroit Lions while the Eagles smoked the Atlanta Falcons. However, San Francisco will offer more resistance to the Eagles this Sunday. Pick: San Francisco.
Los Angeles Rams (1-0) at Indianapolis Colts (0-1). The schedule does not get easier for the Colts after losing to the Seahawks. The Rams looked good against the Bears on Sunday and will look to duplicate their play from Sunday night. Pick: Rams.
Las Vegas Raiders (1-0) at Pittsburgh Steelers (1-0). Both teams pulled off big wins in Week 1 with the Raiders defeating the Baltimore Ravens in overtime on Monday night and the Steelers knocking off the Bills on the road on Sunday. Pick: Steelers.
Cincinnati Bengals (1-0) at Chicago Bears (0-1). The pressure is on the Bears because they were blasted by the Rams on Sunday night. Cincinnati is looking to continue their quick start after defeating the Minnesota Vikings. Pick: Cincinnati.
Houston Texans (1-0) at Cleveland Browns (0-1). The Texans went hog wild against the Jaguars, while the Browns self-destructed against the Kansas City Chiefs in the second half. Pick: Cleveland.
New Orleans Saints (1-0) at Carolina Panthers (1-0). The Saints did not miss a step from last season by destroying the Green Bay Packers on Sunday. The Panthers held in their win over the Jets. Pick: New Orleans.
Minnesota Vikings (0-1) at Arizona Cardinals (1-0). The Vikings lost in overtime to the Bengals while the Cardinals played one of their best games in quite some time in their win against the Tennessee Titans. Pick: Arizona.
Atlanta Falcons (0-1) at Tampa Bay Buccaneers (1-0). The Falcons appear to be in the running for the worst record this season after their loss to the Eagles, while the defending champs defeated the Dallas Cowboys on Thursday. Pick: Buccaneers.
Tennessee Titans (0-1) at Seattle Seahawks (1-0). The Titans were shellacked against the Cardinals while the Seahawks won against the Colts. Having the fans back in Seattle will definitely make a difference for this game. Pick: Seahawks.
Dallas Cowboys (0-1) at Los Angeles Chargers (1-0). Expect plenty of passing yards in this game from both teams. Pick: Dallas.
Kansas City Chiefs (1-0) at Baltimore Ravens (0-1). This match-up has been epic over the past two seasons, but the Chiefs always seem to find a way at the end against the Ravens. Pick: Chiefs.
Monday, September 20th
Detroit Lions (0-1) at Green Bay Packers (0-1). We cannot expect the Packers to play that horrible for two weeks in a row. Pick: Green Bay.
