Angela Davis is a scholar and activist. She is deeply involved in the nation's quest for social justice. She was also a distinguished Professor Emerita of History of Consciousness and feminist studies at UC Santa Cruz and has also taught at Stanford and many other universities.

Angela Davis is the author of nine books. In her early seventies, Angela spent eighteen months in jail and on trial. She has continued to examine social problems associated with the incarnation and criminalization of communities.

In the event, Davis will address various topics like race, gender, and the abolitionist movement that envisions the world without prisons.
