Day 1 of Darrell Brooks Sentencing
Sentencing for the Christmas parade mass killer Darrel Brooks began Tuesday morning, victims of the event were brought into the court room and allowed to give statements. The first person to speak was Laurie Lakhan, who belongs to a catholic church in Wisconsin. She was hit head on by Mr. Brooks, and stated she is still feeling the physical effects of the attack today, via a live stream on the Law & Crime Youtube channel.

This morning there was a mass shooting at the University of Virginia, police have named the primary suspect to be ex-football player Darnell Jones Jr. Three people have been killed, two others have been wounded in a parking garage at the University of Virginia, according to the AP. The FBI has arrived at the scene and the suspect is now in custody.

The virtual meeting's topics will cover cyber security, trade, and nuclear non-proliferation, according to US media.

On Monday night the largest Powerball drawing in history was delayed due to technical problems (See Video). This was announced via a live stream of the drawing, in which they ran into the issues. The presenter, Laura Johnson, told millions of viewers "Because of a technical problem tonight, we are unable to bring you the Powerball drawing at this time" and the stream was ended shortly after. The Powerball 39 Twitter account said that they would be recording the drawing & uploading it via their YouTube channel.

His show averaged 222,000 viewers this year, slightly down from 2021.

On November 8th Republican candidate Christine Drazan will square off against Democrat candidate Tina Kotek for Governor. In total there are 5 candidates running for governor in Oregon. Betsy Johnson is running as an independent. She is polling at an impressive 14% which could show signs of growth amongst independents. This will not be enough to defeat either Tina or Christine, who are both polling at about 40%. Currently the race is too close to call, with Christine Drazan barely polling ahead of Tina Kotek, some polls by only 1% margin. This race has gained national attention because Oregonians have not elected a Republican candidate since 1978. If Tina Kotek wins, she will make history by becoming the first openly lesbian Governor in US history. Kotek was also the first lesbian to hold the position of speaker in any state legislature within the US.
