The New York City Police Department is looking for a group of suspects Thursday who they believe are responsible for the "gang assault" of a 50-year-old man at a Brooklyn subway stop.
According to authorities, the unprovoked attack took place on Friday at around 9:45 p.m., Fox News Digital reported. The suspects could be seen strolling away from the metro station in footage that the police have released.
At one point, a person can be seen failing to perform a backflip. It's unclear why the claimed attack occurred. The incident comes after a slew of alleged attacks in the subway system of New York City in May.
The Northbound D Train Incident
According to a report from WABC, in one incident on May 19, police claimed a 33-year-old victim reported that he was on the northbound D train in Manhattan when he observed another passenger aboard the train acting abnormally.
The victim claimed that the unpredictable person next approached him without warning and "slashed" him on the chin with an unidentified sharp object. When the train came to a stop at 53rd Street and Seventh Avenue, the suspect immediately took off.
Manhattan Subway Station Incident
Two days later, The New York Post reported that a 42-year-old woman was pushed into the side of a standing subway car in Manhattan and was sent to Cornell Hospital as a result. Police claimed that the suspect fled the station in an unspecified route, but it is still unknown what prompted the assault.
