Prosecutors received indictments from a grand jury late last week for six people they suspect are connected to the homicides of 33-year-old John Umberger and 25-year-old Julio Ramirez, who died in Hells Kitchen last year after their deaths were ruled homicides earlier this month.

With intentions to charge at least two of the men with second-degree murder, police are currently searching for the men. Robbery, identity theft, grand larceny, and collusion would also be charged.

Authorities Want To Apprehend Criminals With More Serious Charges

Authorities are now trying to apprehend these individuals on more serious charges following the grand jury's indictment last week. No one has been detained as of yet. Ramirez's credit card was used by one, Andre Butts, 28, to purchase two pairs of Nike sneakers for $544.38 just hours after he passed away. Butts were originally charged in June of last year.

Between September 19, 21, and August 28, 22, police have connected 17 drug-related crimes to the Umberger/Ramirez pattern. In this pattern, marijuana or contaminated drugs are given to inebriated victims at a bar. Once the drugs start working, the victims' mobile phones are stolen and sizable sums of money are withdrawn from their bank accounts.
