Authorities are merely preparing in case of an indictment, according to the law enforcement officials, who spoke to The Associated Press under the condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak to the media.
They characterized the discussions as being in the basic stages, and they are thinking about security, preparation, and the logistics of a hypothetical court appearance by a former president. Trump's attorney, Joseph Tacopina, and the Manhattan district attorney's office declined to comment.
Administrators of the court have received a message. Michael Cohen, a former Trump attorney, has testified before the grand jury and claims to have organized payments to two women in 2016 to keep them silent about alleged sexual encounters they had with Trump ten years prior.

According to reports, the Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg's office is looking into if any state laws were committed in relation to the payments or the way Trump's business paid Michael Cohen for his dirty work to bury the women's claims.
Among the witnesses who have been with prosecutors recently are Daniels and at least two former Trump staffers, including former political strategist Kellyanne Conway and former spokesperson Hope Hicks.
