TADA! Youth Theater's "Princess Phooey," an original play, will be performed on stage by Hudson County youth from February 10 to February 26 at TADA! Youth Theater in Manhattan.
Princess Phooey isn't the type of princess that has to be saved by a Prince, no matter how hard he tries, and she doesn't want to smile or curtsy. She'd rather play with the castle's chambermaids and stable boys.
Her older sister Elessia, together with the Good Fairies, attempts to turn Phooey into a real princess, but Morbidia has other intentions for them all. Lisa Diana Shapiro wrote the book and lyrics for "Princess Phooey," and Eric Rockwell composed the music.
Members of the Resident Youth Ensemble of TADA! (RYET) from Jersey City appear in "Princess Phooey," including Sophia Donath, 16, as Splenda, Hans Gabriel Olano, 10, as Tertius, Lukas Mufute, 12, as Sixtamus, and Emma Origenes, 10, as Dot.
10-Year-Old Hoboken Resident Will Play As Quartos
Max Suspitsyn, a 10-year-old Hoboken resident, also appears in the play as Quartos.
"TADA! is a lot of fun, and I'm really looking forward to performing on stage with my new friends," Suspitsyn remarked.
"This is my first year, and there are so many wonderful things to look forward to. TADA! teaches you new techniques to help you get better and improve on stage and beyond."
