Dramatic scenes took place on Saturday in front of a beach in the US metropolis of Miami. A Robinson R44 helicopter crashed into the Atlantic ocean near a crowded beach in Miami at 1:20 pm on Saturday. Federal agencies including FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) are still investigating the causes of the crash.
The video of the crash was posted by Miami Police on Twitter. The video footage shows the helicopter slowly losing control and then crashing into the ocean. Other photos and videos posted by social media users show different parts of the aircraft above the water, with dozens of people swimming nearby.
"Three passengers were on board the flight and two of them were injured and taken to the Jackson Memorial Hospital in stable condition", Miami Beach police said.
Miami Beach police, fire departments, and other agencies are still investigating the crash scene.
"It's like something out of a movie, it was really, really, scary," Calliston told CNN News.
"I was in the water with my daughter and suddenly we saw the helicopter crashing into the water and all a sudden lifeguards rushed to help the passengers." Wade Calliston a local swimmer said.
The pilot and two other women who were on board are safe. Two of them are still at Jackson Memorial Hospital in stable condition. The Miami Beach police had closed the beach for the investigation. The US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) said that they will put all the evidence and causes of the crash public to make sure that these types of incidents can't happen at such public places.
