MINNEAPOLIS, MN — The MNUFC Youth Development Program is an opportunity for young players to develop their skills and make their way to the First Team.

In the past five months, the program has been giving over 750 players a place to play during the global pandemic. It gives them opportunities to train and upgrade their performance. The sessions are based on daily accomplishments which trigger the players’ hunger for achievement.

“The past five months are just the beginning of a long-term project that will help MNUFC to identify and develop high-level soccer players and create a belonging to our club,” said Noel Quinn, the Director of Youth Development. “It is important for MNUFC to cultivate an environment that rewards hunger, provides opportunities and gives the players in Minnesota the chance to call MNUFC home.”

This summer, the tryouts for the Youth Development Program will be held on July 6 – 8 from 9.00 a.m. to 11.00 a.m. at the National Sports Center Stadium, where the First Team trains as well. The venue’s new world-class dome will be the witness to the emergence of new promising players.

Through the three weeks of training, players will be training with the First Team and learn directly from the best players, coaches and staff. Not only training for the skill, but also the for the culture and environment of the club.

“The next month of training for the YDP group is really exciting with a demanding training schedule that will have a great atmosphere and environment for the kids, with the training schedule very similar to the First Team,” said Sporting Director, Manny Lagos.
