SAINT PAUL, MN — Governor Tim Walz announced the launch of ‘Your Shot to Summer,' the state's COVID-19 vaccine incentive campaign, which encourages Minnesotans to roll up their sleeves and get their COVID-19 vaccination in the coming month.

By July 1, 2021, the program hopes to have vaccinated 70 percent of Minnesotans aged 16 and up. Between May 27 and June 30, the first 100,000 Minnesotans who get their first shot will be able to choose from a variety of rewards, including state park passes, fishing licenses and tickets to different summer attractions and events.

“Summer is here, vaccines are working and we are still going full steam ahead finding ways to keep our communities safe, ” said Governor Walz. “We’ve had great success in our state so far with more than 2.5 million Minnesotans fully vaccinated, and we want to build on that success and get the broad community protection needed for everyone to have the fun, safe summer they want. Whether it’s fishing, exploring our state parks, taking the family to a ball game or the Minnesota State Fair, we want to help get you there safely. So roll up your sleeves, make that vaccine appointment, and pick your reward, Minnesota — this is your shot to summer.”

Minnesotans who receive their first COVID-19 vaccination dosage between May 27 and June 30 will be able to select one of the nine vaccine rewards listed below:

  • Great Lakes Aquarium Pass
  • Mall of America Nickelodeon Universe Pass
  • Minnesota Fishing License
  • Minnesota State Parks Pass
  • Minnesota Zoo Admission
  • Northwoods Baseball League Tickets
  • State Fair Tickets
  • Valleyfair Single-Day Admission
  • Visa Card

Minnesotans aged 12 and up must obtain their first dose between May 27, 2021, and June 30, 2021, to be eligible for the immunization benefits. Minnesotans can check their first dosage and choose their preferred vaccine incentive at mn.gov/covid19/summer starting June 1, 2021.

The first 100,000 qualified Minnesotans who make a request will receive a reward. Requests for rewards must be filed to the Minnesota Department of Health by June 30, 2021, at 11:59 p.m., and will be completed on a rolling basis during June 2021, but no later than July 16, 2021.
