A survey conducted by Zapier predicated that "1 in 3 Americans have a side-hustle."
Having a side-hustle could help you make more money on the side. You can reinvest that money into other ventures, and also, sometimes your side-hustle could be a full-time job when you understand the business more enough and be a little smart with it.
This article will discuss five side-hustles that you should start with working that will require you 1 to 3 hours a day.
1. Start a blog:
When I started my blog, Techmintle, I struggled with many things, including finding a niche of my blog and ways to monetize, but I did one thing right. I never stop writing and publishing on this blog. Although it did take me more time, and with a lot of experimentation, I think I find the right thing. Starting a blog is easy. Buy a domain and hosting from a company and Install WordPress.
Here is an easy step-by-step process to start a blog and make money.
- Find a topic that you are interested in.
- Buy a custom domain and hosting.
- Install WordPress on your blog.
- Learn search engine optimization.
- Start applying your knowledge of SEO to your blog.
- Start writing.
- Find a way to monetize your blog.
2. Start writing on free writing platforms:
Many free writing platforms let you write for free, and you can also make money. Of course, every writing platform has a different system for you to write and make money, but if you show up every day, you will make more money.
The free writing platforms you can write are;
- Vocal Media
- More to come.
All these platforms are great to write and make money, and you can start profitable writing.
Here I made a video about how much money I made writing on Medium.
3. Start offering your services as a freelancer:
Freelancing is a billion-dollar market where you can make thousands of dollars every month working three hours a day. You need to have a skill better than 1% of those who are working in your industry. It will take you some time to build credibility in the freelance platforms, but at the end of the day, if you show up and find clients for yourself through your online writings, you too can make good money. You can give a try to platforms like Fiverr, Upwork, Elance, and Freelance dot com.
4. Start a YouTube Channel:
When I started my YouTube channel, Aamir Kamal, YouTube just released their new monetization strategy of having 4,000 watch hours and 1,000 subscribers. It takes me one and a half years to achieve that milestone, but everything was good at the end of the day. Now, I am making over $5 a day, which isn't a significant amount, but it is still somehow big enough to support my daily wage.
You, too, can start a YouTube channel by just signing with your Gmail and start uploading one or two videos a week. It will take you some time, but you will be grateful that you take the chance to create a powerful & potential asset at the end of the day. This side-hustle could help you make more money and can get you fame.
5. Start a paid newsletter:
The newsletter is a new buzzword introduced by Substack. Substack is the first platform that mainstreams the concept of creating a newsletter and charging your reads a specific fee every month to let them consume your content.
The idea of a newsletter and a blog is very similar. However, suppose you choose to go for Substack. In that case, there is no limit on the number of emails subscribers, Substack is free, and you can make money in different ways, like offering sponsorship to companies to promote them to your vast audience.
